My plan for her dress proper (my dear, she can't clean in her underthings!) is some re-purposed black noil silk from an old shirt. Its nubbly texture looks like old, worn wool, but drapes and hangs in scale with the doll. Why black? I assuming once her father died she wouldn't be bought new clothes and they wouldn't spend money on a servant's livery; the last thing she would have had to wear would have been the mourning she wore for her father's funeral. So, black it is, with patches and tears. I'm sure Cinderella could sew, all well-educated young ladies could. I just doubt she would have had the opportunity.

I would be most appreciative if anyone would care to look over and comment my art. Which is kind of a passive-aggressive way of saying, "Look at my art! Go! Go there now! I need attention!" (;^_^)
